Paul Decu writes and directs films in Romania. He trained as an actor at UNATC in Bucharest, graduating in 2017, and went on to complete a master’s in directing at MetFilm School in London.
Since 2019 he has worked on Romanian film, advertising and video productions as an assistant director, production assistant and camera assistant, while writing and directing four short films. His feature debut, the comedy În Pielea Mea, opened in Romanian cinemas in February 2026.
As a screenwriter, he has sold several feature screenplays and was selected for TorinoFilmLab and other development labs. He was a finalist at the London International Screenwriting Competition and has worked as a script advisor on a number of projects.
On Frame One he writes about the craft from the working side: how scripts are built, how they change on the way to the screen and what still holds up once the camera is rolling.
